House Partnership appoints new regional partners

House Partnership has appointed two new regional partners.

Jasper Colliver (ex Savills, Hamptons International, and Kinleigh Folkard & Hayward) and Sam Wylie (formerly of Wylie & Co., EO Estate Agent, and James Pendleton) each have more than 15 years’ experience have both joined house.

The new Partners are focusing on Barnes, Putney, Sheen, Battersea and Clapham, strengthening the agency’s presence in South West London, with Wimbledon and Coombe already covered by current partner Guy Leaning.

House Partnership was founded more than eight years ago by former Savills directors Andrew Giller and David Carter to sell country properties in Surrey and Sussex.

“By stripping out large central costs, we believed we could offer our clients a better service where the person you meet is the person you deal with, and be more profitable as a business,” said Giller. “We also realised that we could do so much more online, not only selling houses but the lifestyle they enable.”

Today, the team has increased to 18, with a head office in Cranleigh, Surrey, and offices or “pods” in Clapham, Wimbledon, Esher and West Sussex, with 15 Partners covering a substantial area from Central and South West London right down to the South Coast.

The agency does not operate as a franchise; rather partners who are experienced at a senior level in the estate agency sector are invited to join.

“While most agencies start in London and expand outwards, we’ve done the reverse. We started in Surrey and Sussex and moved up the A3, primarily because we were meeting applicants looking for country homes before they had even sold in London, so it’s natural that we wanted to help our clients not only to buy but also to sell,” said Giller.

“We are delighted to welcome Jasper and Sam. Our ethos has always been to have amazing, experienced Partners who provide an unrivalled quality of service and advice. Both have years of professional experience in their respective areas, so having them on board adds hugely to our breadth of expertise,” he continued.

Colliver will cover Barnes, Putney and Sheen for house,, while Wylie is focusing on Battersea and Clapham.

Giller added: “Most agencies these days are target-driven, so there’s little cooperation between offices. Our approach is totally different: we’re collaborative and very old-school in the way the partnership works: we refer business between our Partners, everyone knows what’s going on throughout the business, and it’s all for the benefit of our clients.

“Also, the experienced Partner you meet is the person you’ll deal with throughout your entire sale or purchase, unlike other agencies where you’ll deal with different people in a branch office.”

Harry Young following in the family footsteps

Harry Young

Harry Young has been promoted at Sanderson Young in Newcastle upon Tyne to a regional valuer.

Young, who is now 27, has worked for Sanderson Young for more than nine years, initially as a part-time support during his college years and, since the summer of 2018, on a permanent full-time basis once he completed his degree in business management and marketing from Leeds

He has experienced all aspects of the business over the last nine years, from tea boy to negotiator and from residential lettings to the sale of large country estates.

Young, who will continue to be based out of the regional office in Gosforth, is the youngest of three sons by the founder, Duncan Young and his wife Alison, who celebrate 25 years of selling and letting homes regionally in the North of England

Young commented “I’m delighted to expand my responsibilities in a valuing role and, whilst also staying committed to my negotiations in the Rare! department, I look forward to seeing more houses, not just in Newcastle, but throughout the region. It’s one of the most rewarding and exciting roles within estate agency to guide owners from the very beginning as to how Sanderson Young can make a difference to their home sale and not only maximise the selling price, but efficiently and smoothly move those clients from A to B.

“I’m confident our experienced and mature team of sales support can continue to exceed the expectation of our clients and, through our proven marketing strengths, make a real difference to their sale.  At 27 years of age I’m still regarded as one of the “youngsters” in the firm but I know I can go that extra mile to achieve similar high levels of success for my clients.”

Cavendish Legal Group appoint Robert Djemil as relationship director

Rob Djemil

London-based conveyancing solicitors Cavendish Legal Group (CLG), part of Movera, has appointed Rob Djemil to the newly created role of relationship director.

His aim is to enable the ambition of CLG’s partners and referrers by delivering fresh propositions to their clients.

Djemil has specific responsibility for relationship management, proposition development and business growth across the UK home moving sector including estate agency, shared ownership, broker and new build segments.

Platform business Movera rebranded last year to bring together seven home moving brands from across the sector.

With nearly three decades of experience in introducer relationships, Djemil has worked with mortgage brokers, housing associations, estate agents and housebuilders. His track record also includes building and managing a direct sales team.

Djemil worked with CLG for 12 years. He left in 2008 to start his own consultancy, advising law firms on how to win new introducer business, maintain that business, increase conversion rates and generate greater revenue. He remained in consultancy until rejoining CLG.

Djemil said: “I can’t wait to continue to expand our business further into the shared ownership and estate agency sectors and build on our valuable existing introducer/referrer relationships. In collaboration, we will transform our industry by providing a level of service and comunication that is unrivalled, in service to all those we represent. I’m so fortunate to have this opportunity to be part of this and to have the support of brilliant people including Movera’s Executive team in our joint commitment and dedication to making a difference.”

Mark Tosetti, Movera’s group partnership director, commented: “Rob’s industry knowledge and experience is invaluable to Movera in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, enabling stronger partnerships, and collaborations with key market stakeholders. His depth of experience and expertise is unrivalled across the wider homemoving market including the shared ownership, brokers and estate agent segments.”

Craig Underwood, group chief operating officer at Movera, added: “Rob brings a fantastic track record in the industry and an in-depth knowledge of CLG to this new role. We look forward to seeing him grow CLG’s relationships in the shared ownership and estate agency sectors.”
