Leading whisky cask investment company Whisky 1901 has hired former luxury jewellery and gemstone marketeer, Faye Shilston, as Marketing Director to help drive the company’s ambitious growth and expansion plans.

Faye brings to the business a wealth of experience working for high-end luxury brands and start-ups to spearhead a growing team at Whisky 1901.

Joining Whisky 1901 in a period of substantial growth, with projected revenues of £8 to £10 million for the financial year ended 2024, Scottish expansion plans on the horizon and a bottle launch set for later this year, Faye will play a pivotal role in the future development of the whisky investment business.

Faye’s background working with start-ups such as Something Blue, a luxury jewellery company in the gemstone industry, puts her in a unique position to drive the awareness and reputation of the Whisky 1901 brand as it blossoms from small business to leading industry player.

As Marketing Director, Faye will lead on all marketing and CRM activity, including developing campaigns to entice new investors by broadening the appeal of whisky cask investment to a wider demographic, organising upcoming events such as Whisky 1901’s bottle launches, sponsorship opportunities and partnerships for the business.

Since joining Whisky 1901 in March, Faye has already overseen a multi-year sponsorship deal with professional Scottish golfer, Ewen Ferguson, helped arrange the first whisky tasting event in Edinburgh for 2024 and is now preparing for the Whisky 1901’s first bottled Scotch launch this summer.

Founder and CEO of Whisky 1901, Aaron Damiano Sparkes, said, “We have ambitious plans for growth in the coming years, including increasing the value of whisky casks under management to £20 million for 2024.

Faye’s past experience working with luxury brands and start-ups make her the perfect choice to help us develop the Whisky 1901 brand as we look to expand the business. We’re excited by her marketing ambitions and look forward to seeing the positive impact she will have on the company as a whole.”

Faye Shilston, Marketing Director at Whisky 1901, added, “I’m thrilled to be a part of the Whisky 1901 family, and excited by this new challenge in a burgeoning industry.

My previous experience in high-end jewellery and gemstones has provided me with a solid understanding and appreciation for luxury assets and investments, like premium Scotch Whisky, and the prestige that comes with owning your own whisky cask.

“As a woman in the predominantly male whisky industry, I am personally motivated to encourage more female investors to experience and appreciate the joys of whisky and cask investment. I have a personal affiliation with Scotland, and whisky of course. I look forward to achieving great things with Whisky 1901 in the coming years.”
