Iran has fired hundreds of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles and drones towards Israel and in retaliation Israeli defence forces attack southern Lebanon on Sunday.
Israel carried out strikes against Khiam, Iqlim al-Tuffah, Nabi Sheet and Bekaa area targeting Hezbollah on Sunday.
On Saturday Iranian backed Hezbollah militants launched their largest attack to date and Israel intercepted 40 launches from southern Lebanon.
Hezbollah also launched dozens of rockets towards Israeli military posts at the Golan Heights which is occupied by Israel.
The Iranian president said that Israel has been “taught a lesson” and Ebrahim Raisi wrote on X released by the foreign ministry, “Any new adventure will be responded with a heavier and regrettable response.”
The Israeli Defence Forces spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Peter Lerner told Sky News, they are “poised and prepared for further aggression.”
He added, “This is a very, very serious act against Israel.
“What actually happened with Israel, our aerial defences, the abilities of the US military, the British military and air force and French air force – a very, very clear message to Iran that this just won’t go.
“Together, united, we saved Israeli lives.”
He was asked if they will respond to Iran, “It’s a very good question.
“We are looking towards the government today, the government will convene later today and they will make their decisions and instruct the military accordingly.”
The IDF are “preparing for any eventuality,” he added.
We have to look very open-eyed to what can actually happen further and that is why the IDF is prepared and our aerial defences continue to be on high alert.
