The second night running Romania who is a member of NATO has three Russian drones enter their territory.

On Wednesday night through to Thursday morning Russia launched a swarm drone attack which were to target Ukrainian infrastructure across several regions in Ukraine.

Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleschuk said that during the swarm drone attack three Iranian made Shahed drones landed in Romania for the second night in a row.

Anti-aircraft defence systems shot down 25 out of the 38 drones in Kherson, Mykolaiv, Kyiv, Sumy, Zhytomyr, Cherkasy regions and in Odesa.

At 01.20 on Thursday morning Romania issued an air alert warning residents of the falling debris from the drones, Digi24 reported.

Romanian emergency services said, “The territory of our country is not the object of attacks by the Russian Federation.

“These messages are intended to inform the population that debris from destroyed drones may fall [on Romanian soil].”

The Romanian Defence Ministry said on Thursday that parts of the Russian drone were recovered near the Danube River.

“Russian forces resumed a series of drone strikes on civilian and port infrastructure targets in Ukraine on the night of July 24-25, near the border with Romania,” a statement read.

“Investigations started yesterday, July 24… [and investigators] have so far identified, in the area near Plauru, the remains of a Geran1/2 drone of Russian origin.

“The ministry of national defence sends a firm message of condemnation of these attacks carried out by the Russian Federation against some objectives and elements of Ukrainian civil infrastructure, which are unjustified and in serious contradiction with the norms of international law.”
