The British Defence Secretary has warned the frontline in Ukraine is now “less stable” than it ever has been since the full-scale war started in February 2022.

John Healey warned that intelligence reports have revealed that in recent weeks we have seen a “very clear escalation” from Vladimir Putin’s forces.

Healey said there has been a “clear escalation” from Putin and his forces stepping up their attacks on civilian infrastructure.

Healey warned, “Defence intelligence will reveal today that the frontline is now less stable than at any time since the early days of the full-scale Russian invasion in February 22 and we’ve seen in recent weeks a very clear escalation from Putin and his forces,” Healy said, speaking in front of the Defence Committee.

The Defence Secretary added, “They’ve stepped up attacks on the energy system in Ukraine ahead of winter. They’ve stepped up attacks on civilian centres, killing children.

Russia warns London they are ‘directly involved in this war’ who are now a ‘legitimate target’

“They’ve deployed at least 10,000 North Korean troops to the battle[field], and there are unconfirmed … media reports today of Russia firing a new ballistic missile into Ukraine, which we know they have been preparing for months.”

He was asked if Ukrainian forces have actually launched the British made and supplied long-range Storm Shadow missiles inside Russia.

Healey said that the UK is “stepping up” and we are “doubling down” on supporting Ukraine and would not reveal anything further.

On Thursday the Russian ambassador to the UK Andrei Kelin has said that UK is “directly involved” in the war in Ukraine after authorizing Kyiv to use the British long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles.

The Russian ambassador was asked will the UK be dragged into war with Russia over the use of Storm Shadow missiles being used inside Russia.

Kelin told Sky News Mark Austin, “Absolutely, Britain and UK is now directly involved in this war, because this firing cannot happen without NATO staff, British staff as well.”

Vladimir Putin could launch “both conventional and nuclear warheads” in London as he has “moved into action.”

Dmitry Kiselyov who is a close ally of Putin warned in September that should Sir Keir Starmer allow the use of the Storm Shadow cruise missiles then the “UK could face a nuclear response.”

Kiselyov who is Putin’s most senior mouthpiece for the media group Rossiya Segodnya sent Downing Street a warning that the UK has “no missile defence system.”
