Estate agency Knight Frank and property platform Zoopla have been recognised as two of the UK’s top employers for providing outstanding parental leave packages.

The rankings were compiled by Nugget Savings, a platform that supports parents in preparing financially for parenthood. The platform evaluated over 800 companies’ parental leave policies, with data submitted by more than 200,000 current or former employees.

Employers were assessed based on their parental leave provisions, with higher scores awarded to those offering six months or more of fully paid leave. The analysis also considered other factors such as gender-equal policies, support for IVF, egg freezing and miscarriage.

Knight Frank earned the second spot on the list – behind investment manager Baillie Gifford – by offering 26 weeks of fully paid leave for both mothers and fathers, with the option to take up to 52 weeks in total.

Zoopla placed third, providing mothers with up to a year of leave, including six months of full pay, three months of half pay, and three months unpaid. Fathers at Zoopla receive eight weeks of full pay and four weeks at half pay.

Katie Guild, co-founder of Nugget Savings, explained the motivation behind the rankings: “This list was created to show workers that there are organisations that offer benefits for parents. We wanted to highlight those offering great packages for both parents, parents who are struggling to conceive, and parents who are going through baby loss.

“What we noticed is that not only are the parental leave packages incredible, but many are also championing work-life balance and female leadership, which is fantastic to see and invaluable for working mothers.”

Top 10 UK employers for parental leave packages:

  1. Baillie Gifford
  2. Knight Frank
  3. Zoopla
  4. J P Morgan Chase
  5. Ticketmaster
  6. Lloyds Banking Group
  7. Flutter
  8. Phoenix Group
  9. Cambridge University Press
  10. University of Liverpool
