The Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said they have “learned unofficially” that the Slovakian Prime Minister will meet with Vladimir Putin to hold talks on gas supplies.
Fico who is pro-Putin will meet the Russian dictator on Monday, as he threatened Kyiv with a “serious conflict” if they stop the supply of Russian gas running through Ukraine to Slovakia, on Friday.
Vucic told Serbian media, “As far I know from unofficial sources – and even though I’m saying ‘unofficial,’ it means that the information is rather accurate, Robert Fico will travel to visit Putin as a European countries leader.
Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov said when asked by TASS whether Fico will visit Moscow on Monday, “As you understand, it will draw a certain reason from other EU leaders, which makes it clear that the situation is getting increasingly difficult.
“We will inform everything in due time, let’s not get ahead of ourselves. We need to be a little patient.”

On Thursday President Zelensky told Slovakia that Ukraine will not get involved with allowing Russian gas to run through his country.
Zelensky also told Fico that if the gas is not Russian and no payments are going to Moscow and if the gas is from another country, then he would consider this.
Fico warned on Friday, “If Zelenskyy does not let our gas through, a serious conflict could arise. Why should it only go from us there? Why can’t there be some kind of solidarity towards us?”
The Kyiv Independent reported, Fico verbally attacked the Ukrainian leader at the European Union summit, he said, “We are demonstrably facing a gas crisis thanks to President Zelensky.”
The Slovak leader said that he hopes Bratislava could consider “reciprocal measures” if Ukraine does stop all Russian gas running the country.
Russia’s state owner energy provider Gazprom has said they estimate transiting the gas via an alternative route could cost an additional €220 million.
