There is now a very real risk that Prince Harry could be targeted by Islamist terrorists which do have a wide global reach.
Military commanders have hit out at Harry over his explosive comments, and he has been warned that the Taliban could now be “motivated to kill Harry.”
Colonel Richard Kemp, a retired British army officer, told Sky News that Prince Harry’s comments could “incite some people to attempt an attack on British soldiers anywhere in the world.”
Colonel Kemp, who took command of British forces in Afghanistan in 2003 warned that Prince Harry’s suggestion that soldiers are trained to see the enemy as “less than human” is dangerous.
He also warned that his comments “were probably ill-judged for two reasons. One is his suggestion that he killed 25 people will have reincited those people who wish him harm.”

Colonel Kemp added, “The other problem I found with his comments was that he characterised the British Army basically as having trained him and other soldiers to see his enemy as less than human, just as chess pieces on a board to be swiped off, which is not the case.
“It’s the opposite of the case.”
He further warned that memories of the war in Afghanistan have now been “resurrected” over his comments in his book and said the Taliban could now be “motivated to kill Harry.”
Colonel Kemp who retired in 2006 added, “Let’s hope they don’t succeed and I’m sure he’s got pretty good security, but that’s one problem.”
The former British national security advisor, Lord Darroch said he would have “advised against the kind of detail that he goes into.”
He added, “But it’s out there now.
“In terms of the detail I personally wouldn’t have gone there, but it’s done now.”
Harry said, “It wasn’t a statistic that filled me with pride but nor did it make me ashamed,” he writes.
“When I was plunged into the heat and confusion of battle, I didn’t think about those as 25 people. You can’t kill people if you see them as people.
“In truth, you can’t hurt people if you see them as people. They were chess pieces taken off the board, bad guys eliminated before they kill good guys.
Furious Taliban leaders have blasted Prince Harry over his claims that he killed 25 fighters whilst serving in Afghanistan and there are fears that there could be heightened security risks for the UK and himself.
In his book Spare said that those he killed were not “people” but were “chess pieces” which had been taken off the board.
The Taliban blasted Prince Harry and said that they “were not chess pieces” and have accused him of “war crimes” whilst serving in Afghanistan.
Anas Haqqani who is a leading figure in the influential fundamentalist regime, the Haqqani Network, which is part of the Taliban was outraged over his comments.
Haqqani who is blamed for some of the deadliest attacks in Afghanistan wrote on Twitter, “The ones you killed were not chess pieces, they were humans; they had families who were waiting for their return.
“Among the killers of Afghans, not many have your decency to reveal their conscience and confess to their war crimes.”
Taliban commander Molavi Gol, told the Daily Mail he thought Harry was a “loser” and that if he is “a real man” then “come to Afghanistan again.”
A very furious and deadly Taliban commander said, “We are still here ruling but he has fled to his grandmother’s palace.
“He’s a big mouth loser who has been trying to get attention
“Even if he believes [that he killed 25 Taliban], our martyred Mujaheddin are in heaven, but his invading friends are burning in hell and I really hope I was in Helmand when he was there, to make him understand what real chess pieces are.
“If he’s a real man and not a f***ing loser, come to Afghanistan again.”
Adam Holloway, the Conservative MP for Gravesham who fought in Iraq for the British Army, wrote in the Spectator that many soldiers did not think it was appropriate to publicise their kill count.
“It’s not about macho codes. It’s about decency and respect for the lives you have taken,” he wrote.
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak refused to comment over Prince Harry’s 25 kills claim, he added that he was “enormously grateful to our armed forces.”
A Ministry of Defence (MoD) spokesperson, was asked about the Harry’s kill number, said, “We do not comment on operational details for security reasons.”
