Russia and Iran launch joint naval drills as the region is on a war footing – London Business News | London Wallet

Russia launches their largest drone attack since the war started almost three years ago, the Ukrainian Ait Force has confirmed.

Overnight Russia fired 267 drones at Ukraine and authorities said that five regions come under attack in the largest drone attack since November 2024 when Moscow launched 188 drones.

Ukrainian air defences shot down and destroyed 138 out of 267 drones overnight and 119 disappeared from the radar, Air Defence forces said.

Col. Yurii Ihnat, Head of Communications Department of the Ukrainian Air Force Command, said this was the largest drone attack on Ukraine since the war started.

Explosions were heard all over the country and in the capital, Kyiv drone debris fell and two house and post office were hit in other districts.

There were no reported injuries in Kyiv and in Odessa Oblast three were injured as a fire broke out a house.

According to the Telegram channel of Kyiv Military Administration chief Timur Tkachenko and Kyiv Mayor Vitalii Klitschko’s channel, “Windows of a nearby non-residential building were damaged, but no casualties were reported. The threat remains.”

In Kyiv, “Debris from a drone fell in the Darnytskyi district, causing a fire. A private house and several vehicles were damaged. Information on casualties is being clarified.”

“In the Darnytskyi district, where drone debris fell, three private houses and several cars were damaged. Emergency services are on-site. So far, no one has sought medical assistance,” Klitschko reported.

The Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said, “Every day, our people stand against aerial terror. On the eve of the third anniversary of the full-scale war, Russia launched 267 attack drones against Ukraine — the largest attack since Iranian drones began striking Ukrainian cities and villages.

“In total, nearly 1,150 attack drones, more than 1,400 guided aerial bombs and 35 missiles of various types were launched this week.

“I thank everyone who repels such attacks on a daily basis—our aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, electronic warfare units and mobile fire groups of the Air Force and Defense Forces.

“I also thank those on the ground who save lives and respond to the aftermath of shelling—the State Emergency Service, medics, and the National Police.

“The war continues.

“Everyone capable of helping with air defense must work to enhance the protection of human life. We must do everything possible to bring a lasting and just peace to Ukraine.

“This is achievable through the unity of all partners—we need the strength of all of Europe, the strength of America, the strength of everyone who seeks lasting peace.”
