The US President has said he is allocating funds for a new sixth generation fighter jet called the “F-47.”
Donald Trump met with the Defence Secretary Pete Hegseth in the Oval Office on Friday and announced the programme, telling reporters “There’s never been anything like it.”
The US President said, “The F-47 is equipped with state-of-the-art stealth technologies, virtually unseeable and unprecedented power,” adding, the fighter jet has a “beautiful name.”
“There’s never been anything like it.”
The new sixth generation war plane will be built in the next “couple of years” and production has already started.
Trump added, “Our allies are calling constantly, they want to buy them all,” although it is unclear how many allies he thinks the US now has.
Hegseth said this new fighter jet will be “the next generation of air dominance.”
He added, “Now we have the F-47, which sends a very direct clear message to our allies that we aren’t going anywhere.”
