Rentman developer Nigel Gomm is appealing to agents affected by the recent software issues not to abandon the service provider following a split from the platform’s UK distributor.

Hundreds of agents have been struggling with the sudden software switch and significant business disruption, prompting key competitors such as Street and Alto to move in to take advantage of the situation and win new business – at Rentman’s expense.

A number of agents have struggled to work with a replacement service supplied by GNB after Rentman Software Ltd, which was the UK distributor for Rentman, split from developer Gomm after 30 years, and that has proved bad for business.

But Gomm has got in touch with EYE to explain that customers can get them back into their Rentman platform “within an hour” of them giving him GDPR consent.

Gomm is trying to act swiftly before Rentman loses more business to its competitors.

Estate and letting agency CRM provider, Street, has within the past few days announced that it is ‘throwing a lifeline’ to agents disrupted by the disruptive Rentman software issues by temporarily doubling its onboarding capacity to allow fast-tracking of support for agents looking to switch over service provider.

“We’re aware of the recent reports highlighting the challenges Rentman users are currently facing,” said Stella Nicol, head of operations at Street. “We’ve been contacted by a number of agents and, in response, we’re making additional resources available to assist as many agents as possible.”

Alto also says it has signed deals with agencies abandoning Rentman in recent weeks.

“We’ve had over 10 Rentman switchers join us in just the last two weeks, and that’s no coincidence,” said Nick Shaw, chief revenue officer, Alto.
