On Sunday a Russian ballistic missile hit the northeastern Ukrainian city of Sumy killing dozens of innocent civilians in one of the deadliest attacks this year.

Sumy Mayor Artem Kobzar reported that there is “many dead” on Palm Sunday including children as a result of the Russian ballistic missile attack.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said, “Enemy missiles hit an ordinary city street, ordinary life: houses, educational institutions, cars on the street… And this is on a day when people go to church: Palm Sunday.”

He added, “Without pressure on the aggressor, peace is impossible. Talks have never stopped ballistic missiles and air bombs.

“We need the kind of attitude towards Russia that a terrorist deserves.”

General Keith Kellogg who is the assistant to the US President and the Special Presidential Envoy for Ukraine said Vladimir Putin’s ballistic missile attack “crosses any line of decency.”

Kellogg wrote on X, “Today’s Palm Sunday attack by Russian forces on civilian targets in Sumy crosses any line of decency.

“There are scores of civilian dead and wounded. As a former military leader, I understand targeting and this is wrong. It is why President Trump is working hard to end this war.”

Zelensky’s communications advisor wrote back on X saying, “Don’t you think it’s time to smack the Moscow mule across the nose with a 2×4?”

The British Prime Minister said on Sunday, “I am appalled at Russia’s horrific attacks on civilians in Sumy and my thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones at this tragic time.

“This latest deadly attack is a stark reminder of the continued bloodshed perpetrated by Putin.”

Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavský said, “My thoughts are with the victims and all those affected by the heinous attack on the city of Suma. Russia does not want to change; Russia does not want peace. It is ruled by murderers who show every day that they are not seeking peace. Czechia stands with Ukraine.”

Sir Keir Starmer said that President Zelensky has “shown his commitment to peace,” “President Putin must now agree to a full and immediate ceasefire without conditions – as Ukraine has done.”

The French President Emmanuel Macron said on Sunday today’s attack on Ukraine is a “blatant disregard for human lives” and called Moscow to impose a ceasefire.

Macron wrote on X, “This morning, two Russian missiles struck the heart of the city of Sumy in Ukraine, causing numerous civilian casualties, including children once again. Everyone knows: this war was initiated by Russia alone.

“And today, it is clear that Russia alone chooses to continue it — with blatant disregard for human lives, international law, and the diplomatic efforts of President Trump. Strong measures are needed to impose a ceasefire on Russia

“France is working tirelessly toward this goal, alongside its partners. To the victims, the wounded, and all of Ukraine that continues to resist: our solidarity, our respect, our unwavering commitment.”

On Saturday President Donlad Trump claimed that the negotiations for a ceasefire between Russian and Ukraine is “going fine.”

“I think Ukraine-Russia might be going OK, and you’re going to be finding out pretty soon,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One.

Trump added, “There’s a point at which you have to either put up or shut up. We’ll see what happens, but I think it’s going fine.”

“I think Ukraine-Russia might be going OK, and you’re going to be finding out pretty soon,” Trump told reporters on Air Force One.
