Dodge will not offer the entry-level electric Charger Daytona R/T for 2026, leaving only the high-performance Scat Pack model. Other big changes, including lower prices, are coming for the 2026 Dodge Charger EV.

The “world’s first electric muscle car” hasn’t lived up to the hype. After the first batch of electric Chargers arrived at dealerships in January, Dodge is preparing major updates for the 2026 model year.

One of the biggest is that the cheaper R/T trim will not be an option. Dodge CEO Matt McAlear confirmed the move with Motor1, saying, “Production of the Dodge Charger Daytona R/T is postponed for the 2026 model year as we continue to assess the effects of US tariff policies.”

Instead, Dodge will focus on the high-performance Charger Daytona Scat Pack model, which it calls “the world’s quickest and most powerful muscle car.”

Dodge will add a new four-door model for the 2026 model year, while the new Charger Sixpack, a gas-powered version, will launch in the second half of the year.

According to Mopar Insiders, the Dodge Charger Scat Pack EV will still have 670 hp, but it’s dropping the Stage 2 badges as Direct Connection phases out the Stage Kit program.

With up to 670 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque, the Scat Pack version delivers “SRT-like performance” and can sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds.

The report also claims that Dodge told dealers the 2026 Charger Daytona Scat Pack will get a price cut. Production for the 2026 Dodge Charger EV is expected to start later this month at Stellantis’ Windsor Assembly Plant in Ontario.

In the first quarter, Dodge sold 1,947 electric Charger Daytona models in the US, accounting for 65% of Charger sales.

The 2025 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T EV, with up to 496 hp, is currently listed at $59,995, while the 670 hp Scat Pack trim starts at $73,190.

Dodge cancelling the entry-level Charger EV comes after Ram, another Stellantis-owned brand, notified suppliers of plans to delay its first electric truck until summer 2027. It was initially expected to launch this year.

To move inventory, Dodge is offering generous discounts, including employee pricing plus an additional $3,500 bonus cash allowance. You can use our link to find deals on the electric Dodge Charger Daytona at a dealer near you.
