&M Home is releasing a new colour-focused homeware collection with colour experts Pantone which aims to draw on the effect that different shades can have on our senses.

The launch, which will take place on 26 January, includes seven different items which are available in two colour palettes, chosen for their influence on our moods – and our interiors.

Within the collection are cushion covers, a sculptural vase, two trays, a side table, decorative pedestal and scented candles, which come in either Calm & Soothing (blues) and Energy & Joy (reds).

“Colour is essential for both our home and senses,” says Evelina Kravaev-Söderberg, H&M Home’s head of design and creative. “The H&M Home PANTONE collection allows us to highlight how much difference the power of colour makes in our day-to-day life, with a selection of modern interior objects to add to one’s home.”

The Calm & Soothing palette contains pistachio, petrol, green and mid-blue hues, intended to give a sense of stability and tranquillity through their connection with the sky and sea.

Often associated with heat and passion, Energy & Joy, has pink, red, orange and apricot shades to “evoke our inner vitality, including love and joy”.

“See how the smell of red makes you feel, or add a pistachio-coloured vase to your living room space as a peaceful and beautiful addition,” Kravaev-Söderberg says. “We hope our customers will enjoy how this collection adds to their homes and wellbeing, having just entered 2023.”

Pantone, who have collaborated with H&M Home to create the collection, is a “global colour authority” that created a “universal language of colour” in the 1960s. This standardised the names of exact shades to provide a reference point for designers worldwide.

Prices for the Pantone collection start at £12.99 for a cushion cover, rising to £99.99 for the decorative pedestal. It will be available in select stores and online from 26 January.
