Honda just made charging way easier for Prologue and Acura ZDX EV owners

Honda has finally unlocked Tesla Supercharger access for Prologue and Acura ZDX owners. Your next road trip just got that much easier with over 23,500 Superchargers across the US and Google-built-in maps to find them.

Honda, Acura EVs gain access to Tesla Superchargers

It’s official. Honda and Acura drivers can now plug in and charge up at Tesla Superchargers across the US. “Planning a road trip just got a lot easier for our Honda and Acura EV owners,” Ryan Harty, assistant vice president of American Honda, said after announcing the news on Tuesday.

Prologue and ZDX drivers can access the network with Honda’s new NACS to CSS DC fast charger adapter. The adapters are available at Honda and Acura dealerships or on Honda DreamShop for $225.

Honda is making it even easier with standard in-vehicle Google built-in Maps, which enables you to view and navigate to Supercharger locations.

Initially, you’ll need to use the Tesla app to start the charging session. However, Honda is working on integrating it into the HondaLink and Acura EV apps. It also said plug-and-charge capabilities are currently under development.

By 2030, Honda expects EV owners will have access to around 100,000 DC fast chargers across North America, including Tesla Superchargers, EVgo, and IONNA.

The Honda Prologue has been a surprise hit. After delivering the first customer models in March, the Prologue was the second-best-selling electric SUV in the US for the second half of 2024, trailing behind the Tesla Model Y.

Through the first half of 2025, the Honda Prologue remains one of the top-selling EVs overall. Through the first half of the year, Honda has sold 16,317 electric SUVs.

Acura has been somewhat of a dark horse in the US luxury EV market, selling even more ZDX models than it had expected.

The ZDX has been an under-the-radar success. After selling over 1,300 models in June, Acura ZDX sales totaled 10,355 through the first half of the year. That’s more than the Cadillac Lyriq, which has sold about 9,300 units, and it’s based on the same Ultium EV platform.

It’s even more than Acura had anticipated. Earlier this year, Mike Langel, Acura’s vice president of national sales, told Automotive News that the company only expected to sell around 1,000 ZDX models a month in 2025.

Honda and Acura have been offering some of the biggest EV discounts over the past few months. In some states, Acura is offering nearly $30,000 off the ZDX with incentives, making it more affordable to lease than a Honda CR-V.

The Honda Prologue is currently listed for lease starting at just $259 per month. However, with federal incentives, including the $7,500 EV tax credit, set to expire at the end of September, most of these savings will disappear.
