The British Foreign Office has issued a travel warning that “terrorists are very likely to attack” a popular tourist destination.

The travel advice is for the United Arab Emirates (UAE) which sees an estimated one million tourists travelling to the country annually.

The Foreign Office said, “There is a high threat of terrorist attack globally affecting UK interests and British nationals, including from groups and individuals who view the UK and British nationals as targets.”

They added, “terrorists continued to issue statements threatening to carry out attacks in the Gulf region.”

Terrorists have made “references to attacks on western interests, including against UK citizens.”

The Foreign Office warned, “Due to increasing regional tensions, Israeli and Jewish linked sites could be targets for terrorists in the UAE.

It said, “Attacks could be indiscriminate, including places visited by foreign nationals.”

The potential list of targets is hotels, beaches, restaurants, transports, crowded place, shopping centres and residential areas.

The Foreign Office is strongly advising Brits to “stay aware of your surroundings at all times” and to “maintain a high level of security awareness, particularly in public places and at public events.”

The US Mission to the UAE issued this statement, “The US Mission to the United Arab Emirates is aware of information indicating threats toward the Jewish and Israeli communities in the UAE.

The Mission urges US citizens to avoid locations in the UAE associated with the Jewish and Israeli communities, including places of worship.

Israel’s National Security Council (NSC) has also issued travel warnings for Israelis visiting the UAE as there is a high risk of “terrorist organisations” possibly wanting to carry out attacks in the region.

The NSC warned there is a growing threat from terrorist organisations (The Iranians, Hamas, Hezbollah and Global Jihad)” to attack Israeli targets.

The NSC sad in a statement, “They are driven by heightened motivation to exact revenge following Operation Rising Lion, in addition to the anti-Israel and pro-Palestinian incitement which has intensified since the start of Operation Iron Swords, and even more so in response to Hamas’ starvation campaign.”
