Charles Medina

Charles Medina joins Strutt & Parker from Savills

Strutt & Parker has appointed Charles Medina as director working within its network of prime central London agents, with a focus on Mayfair and Marylebone.

Medina joins Strutt & Parker following nine years at Savills where he began his career in their Windsor office. From 2017, he  operated out of the firm’s Mayfair & St. James’s office, heading up the office’s core team in the sale of residential assets across Mayfair and St. James’s, Soho, Covent Garden, and the Hyde Park Estate in Bayswater.

Medina said: “The super-prime markets of Mayfair and the surrounding are notoriously resilient and will be incredibly important in the year ahead as investors seek stability amidst global economic uncertainty.

“I look forward to working in conjunction with the Private Client department and Strutt & Parker’s network of agents to service their clients in their property needs within these prime markets, many of whom have had a heightened interest in these postcodes in the past few months.”

Louis Harding, head of London Residential at Strutt & Parker, commented: “Charles’ knowledge of these markets will be incredibly valuable for our clients, and puts him in a great position to extend our network of experts working across prime central London.

“These premium postcodes are key to our business, especially in the work undertaken by BNP Paribas Real Estate’s Private Client department, with whom Charles will most certainly be working closely with in addition to our existing offices in PCL. He brings with him a wealth of expertise and contacts in this part of London and an appetite for the breadth and flexibility that his new role offers.”

Foxtons appoints non-executive directors

The board at Foxtons has appointed Annette Andrews and Jack Callaway as non-executive directors of the company with effect from 1 February 2023.

Andrews will also be appointed as chair of the Remuneration Committee and chair of the Environmental, Social and Governance Committee with effect from the close of the 2023 AGM.

These appointments support the firm’s internal succession planning with the departure of Alan Giles and Sheena Mackay, both of whom will be stepping down at the AGM in 2023.

Nigel Rich, chairman of Foxtons, said: “On behalf of the board, I am delighted to welcome both Annette and Jack to the Foxtons’ board.

“Annette brings substantial HR and people expertise to the board after a career of 30 years in senior HR roles and has designed, implemented and overseen a number of compensation regimes in both regulated and commercial businesses. Annette is currently chair of the Remuneration Committee at finnCap Group PLC.

“Jack is an experienced financial services executive with over 30 years of investment banking, mergers and acquisitions, and financing experience. He served previously as chairman of Barclays Telecom, Media and Technology Investment Banking business and was most recently a non-executive director of Euromoney Institutional Investor PLC.

They are both experienced individuals whose skills will complement those of our other Board members.”

Annette Andrews is currently a non-executive director and chair of the Remuneration Committee of finnCap Group PLC and founder and sole director of Acaria Coaching & Consulting Ltd.

Preston Baker welcomes Kirsty Burrows as a property marketing director

Kirsty Burrows

Preston Baker has appointed Kirsty Burrows as a property marketing director in Doncaster.

Burrows, who lives in Braithwaite, Barnby Dun, with her husband and two young sons, has been an estate agent for 16 years, after changing from a career in law.

She said: “The Preston Baker way of selling properties, using Property Launch, is proven to attract more viewers and a significantly higher price than more traditional methods of selling; in the last 90 days this figure stands at an average of £8,900 more.”

Burrows added: “I took a job at an estate agents to help fund myself through my law degree at university and at the age of 19 was trained in valuation. I absolutely loved it and was really good at it.”
