Rightmove and Octopus Energy have struck a new partnership aimed at helping homebuyers identify greener, low-carbon homes more easily when searching on the property portal.
Rightmove reports growing interest in energy-efficient features, with references to heat pumps in property listings up 46% year-on-year and mentions of solar panels rising by 37%.
Octopus Energy’s research also suggests strong homeowner satisfaction with greener technologies: nine in ten heat-pump users said they were glad they made the switch, and 94% reported their homes were as comfortable as—or more comfortable than—when using a gas boiler.
Under the partnership, the two companies will introduce tools and content designed to show how low-carbon technology can cut energy bills and enhance a property’s value.
The first feature to go live is Rightmove’s new “Zero Bills” label, which will allow developers to flag homes powered by Octopus’s Zero Bills smart tariff.
