Hyundai is gearing up to reveal “its biggest EV yet” at the Brussels Motor Show next month. The new EV is just one of the models Hyundai is showcasing at the event.

This year’s event will be a big one with a few highly anticipated electric vehicles set to make their first appearance.

Hyundai is preparing to go on the offensive in 2026, with several new models set to arrive. With less than a month to go, Hyundai previewed “its biggest EV yet,” claiming it will showcase state-of-the-art electric technology, including an advanced 800V charging system.”

Although Hyundai didn’t confirm what it will be, referring to it as “a new EV model that supplements the brand’s existing lineup from Inster to IONIQ 9,” we have a good idea.

Last week, Hyundai launched the new Staria in South Korea, its flagship multi-purpose vehicle (MPV). It’s not entirely a new vehicle, but it is the first major refresh since Hyundai launched the people mover in 2021.

Based on its new “Inside Out” design theme, the new Staria features a full-length LED light bar and Hyundai logo up front.

From what’s shown, the teaser image Hyundai posted on Monday appears to be pretty close to the new Staria, and an electric version for Europe would make sense.

The Staria is currently sold as a hybrid and gas-powered vehicle, but a fully electric version has been spotted testing in South Korea several times now.

Based on Hyundai’s E-GMP.S platform, Kia’s first electric van, the PV5, is quickly earning global recognition and praise. It was recently voted the 2026 International Van of the Year for its futuristic design, advanced tech, and long-range capabilities.

Although the PV5 is based on a 400V platform, we could see Hyundai’s electric Staria launch with similar battery pack options.

The PV5 Passenger is available with two battery packs: 51.5 kWh and 71.2 kWh, providing WLTP ranges of 183 miles and 256 miles, respectively. Although it offers the same battery pack options, the Cargo variant is rated at 184 miles and 258 miles.

While Hyundai is previewing its biggest EV so far, it’s also gearing up to launch its first compact electric car under its IONIQ series.

Hyundai is set to launch the IONIQ 3, an electric hatchback, in Europe in 2026 as a smaller sibling to the IONIQ 5.

Starting at the Brussels Motor Show, Hyundai will launch several new EVs as it aims to play a bigger role in Europe. The updated Hyundai IONIQ 6 will also make its first European motor show appearance.

Visitors will be able to experience the sporty IONIQ 5 N and IONIQ 6 N in Hyundai’s dedicated N Zone, or they can check out the Insteroid in an interactive arcade.

Hyundai will reveal the new EV during a press conference on January 9, 2026. The event runs from January 9 to January 18. Check back for the full rundown.
