The Super Eagles got off to a positive start when they beat Tanzania 2-1 in their AFCON opener, with Semi Ajayi and Ademola Lookman on the scoresheet.

Tunisia are ranked 71 places higher than Tanzania by FIFA and are likely to provide a tougher test. They beat Uganda 3-1 in their opening game.

Both sides can all-but seal a place in the knockout stage with a win.

Here’s everything you need to know about the game…

Date, kick-off time and venue

Nigeria vs Tunisia is scheduled for an 8pm GMT kick-off on Saturday, December 27, 2025.

The match will take place at the Fez Stadium.

Nigeria vs Tunisia team news

Nigeria boss Eric Chelle has been weighing up a system change.

He likes a 4-4-2 diamond formation but the Super Eagles switched to a 4-3-3 during the second half against Tanzania.

Victor Osimhen will be looking to open his AFCON account after drawing a blank against Tanzania on Tuesday.

For Tunisia, there was concern surrounding Dynamo Makhachkala striker Hazem Mastouri, who came off at half-time against Uganda after being subject to a number of heavy tackles. But has been cleared to face Nigeria, though, after passing tests at a hospital.

Winger Elias Achouri will be one to watch after he hit a brace against Uganda, as will Burnley midfielder Hannibal Mejbri.

Nigeria vs Tunisia prediction

The Super Eagles did well to launch their AFCON campaign with a win over Uganda, but will face a far tougher test against Tunisia.

If they are to overcome the Eagles of Carthage, though, they will need Victor Osimhen firing on al cylinders, as well as the corps of Premier League stars behind him.

After cruising through their warm-up fixtures, now is the time to step on the gas. Expect it to be a tight match, but Nigeria’s firepower should see them through.

Head to head (h2h) history and results

Nigeria last beat Tunisia in 2019 as Odion Ighalo scored the only goal in the AFCON third-place play-off.
