Stellantis has pulled another vehicle from its US lineup due to the recent policy changes. After the Jeep Wagoneer 4xe and Grand Cherokee PHEVs were axed, this Dodge model is now on its way out.

The Dodge Hornet is the latest victim of the Trump Administration’s policy changes. Stellantis made it official this week: Dodge is no longer building the Hornet.

The Dodge Hornet was being built at Stellantis Pomigliano d’Arco plant in Italy alongside the Alfa Romeo Tonale, but that’s no longer the case.

“Production of the Dodge Hornet, built in Italy, has ended,” a Dodge spokesperson told Car and Driver. Why? The spokesperson said it was “due to shifts in the policy environment,” thanks to the Trump administrations 25% tariffs on imported vehicles.

Starting at $31,990, the 2025 Hornet was the most affordable vehicle in Dodge’s lineup. It was available as both an ICE and plug-in hybrid (PHEV).

Stellantis confirmed earlier this month that it was pulling all PHEVs from the US, including the Jeep Wrangler 4xe, America’s best-selling plug-in hybrid. That also includes the Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and Chrysler Pacifica PHEV.

The company said it will focus on “more competitive electrified solutions,” like hybrids and extended-range electric vehicles EREVs.

Ram, which was initially expected to launch its first all-electric pickup by the end of 2024, will instead introduce an EREV version later this year. Stellantis made it official in September, announcing it had discontinued the development of the Ram 1500 REV.

Stellantis follows Ford, which announced last month it had ended production of the electric F-150 Lightning pickup with plans to replace it with a next-gen EREV variant in 2027.

Despite the pullback, we still have at least one Stellantis EV to look forward to: the 2026 Jeep Recon. The Recon EV is Jeep’s first electric off-roader and will go head-to-head with Ford’s Bronco. The trail-rated electric SUV packs 650 hp and 620 lb-ft of torque. Inspired by the Wrangler, it also offers removable doors and windows. The Recon will join the Wagoneer S in Jeep’s all-electric lineup when it goes on sale this spring.
