An estate agency has drawn attention online after one of its branded vehicles was photographed parked on double yellow lines in Canterbury.

The pink Mini, carrying Charles Bainbridge Estate Agents signage, was seen in Castle Street over the weekend and prompted debate on social media, with some users criticising the parking while others noted the firm holds a Canterbury City Council permit allowing vehicles to park on double yellow lines.

The discussion intensified after director Andy Wicking shared a modified version of the image featuring a mock advert referencing the incident.

It attracted more than 500 reactions on Facebook, with some people appreciating the humour.

Wicking has confirmed the estate agency will donate £500 to the Canterbury Umbrella Centre, a mental health charity well-known in the city.

He said: “What started as a wave of criticism was turned around with a bit of humour, perspective and calm — and the response to that shift was overwhelming.

“Because behind every comment, every reaction, every keyboard, there’s a person — and mental health matters far more than winning an argument online.

“Thanks to everyone who chose humour, balance and common sense over anger. Let’s keep doing more of that.”
