Harpers & Hurlingham, an estate and letting agency based in Cranbrook, Kent, entered administration on 29 January and was sold later the same day in a transaction that allowed the business to continue trading.

Joint administrators Steven Edwards and Mark Holborow of Crowe U.K. LLP were appointed to the firm. According to Companies House records, the company’s most recent accounts were overdue. Administration provides legal protection from creditors while restructuring or sale arrangements are completed.

The sale avoided liquidation and enabled the agency to maintain operations and client relationships without disruption.

Director Emilie Beard confirmed the transaction, telling EYE that the company had been acquired by an individual investor. Although she is not listed on Companies House as a former director, she said the buyer would not be involved in the day-to-day running of the business and declined to name them.

Beard added that the existing team will remain in place, with no planned redundancies.

“The business will continue to trade as normal, with the same branding and team. A new 10-year lease has been signed for the premises, and we are very much looking forward to the future of Harpers & Hurlingham,” she said.

Established more than a decade ago, Harpers & Hurlingham specialises in residential sales, lettings and property management across the TN17 postcode area.
