The summer transfer window is well and truly hotting up with deals and bids landing left, right and centre for the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester United and Tottenham. Kai Havertz’s switch from Chelsea to Arsenal is also not far off after he completed a medical over the weekend, while the Blues are keen on Arsenal wonderkid Ethan Nwaneri and a shock swap deal for Dusan Vlahovic with Mateo Kovacic now a Man City player.
Elsewhere, Tottenham have confirmed the signing of Guglielmo Vicario and James Maddison has reportedly agreed personal terms. Man United will not raise Mason Mount offer
Manchester United look to be remaining adamant in their stance over Mason Mount.
The Red Devils submitted a third offer to Chelsea last week for the England midfielder worth around £55m.
That bid was styled as a final take-it-or-leave-it approach, with United said to be willing to end negotiations for their top summer target if it wasn’t accepted.
Chelsea duly rejected the bid but made a counter-offer worth an initial £58m plus £7m in add-ons, also offering to hold a face-to-face meeting to smooth over negotiations.
But according to The Times, United will not raise their offer for Mount, despite predicting record revenues for this year.
Jorginho staying at Arsenal this summer
Jorginho will not be leaving Arsenal this summer.
The Italian midfielder had been linked with an exit from the Emirates just five months after completing a move across London from Chelsea.
A return to Serie A and a reunion with former Napoli and Blues boss Maurizio Sarri at Lazio had been most heavily mooted for Jorginho, though his agent has confirmed that his client is going nowhere.
“It’s not about the interest of Lazio or their budget… I can confirm that Jorginho is very happy at Arsenal,” he said.
“In our plans it’s only Arsenal for next season. No negotiations with Lazio.”
Harry Kane keen on Bayern move after positive talks
Harry Kane is ready to join Bayern Munich if they can agree a fee with Tottenham over his transfer, writes Nizaar Kinsella.
The England captain has held positive talks with Bayern despite Spurs insisting that they have yet to receive a bid for his services.
Kane is ready to agree personal terms with the reigning Bundesliga champions but Tottenham are adamant that Kane is not for sale, though it is thought they may consider bids in excess of £100million.
The Athletic reported on Tuesday morning that Bayern had made a formal offer for Kane worth an initial £60m plus add-ons.

Man City confirm Mateo Kovacic signing
Manchester City have announced the signing of Mateo Kovacic from Chelsea.
Following the exit of club captain Ilkay Gundogan to Barcelona, the European champions have acted swiftly to secure Croatia international Kovacic’s services on a four-year deal.
“This is a brilliant move for me, and I cannot wait to get started with City,” Kovacic said.
“Anyone who has watched this team under Pep knows how good they are – for me, they are the best in the world. The trophies they have won are clear for all to see, but they are also the best footballing side out there. To be joining this squad really is a dream for any footballer.”

Tottenham make Vicario first Postecoglou arrival
Tottenham have announced the signing of Guglielmo Vicario after agreeing a £17million deal with Serie A side Empoli.
The Italian international goalkeeper represents the first new face added to Ange Postecoglou’s squad since the manager’s arrival earlier in the summer, following a permanent deal for Juventus loanee Dejan Kulusevski.
Vicario, 26, has signed a five-year contract in north London after undergoing a medical on Monday and has been handed the No13 shirt at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Vicario’s arrival continues the uncertainty around Hugo Lloris’ future, with the long-serving Spurs captain out of contract in 12 months’ time and having publicly confirmed his desire for a new challenge.
Smyth seals QPR return
QPR have confirmed that Paul Smyth has returned to the club on a free transfer.
The 25-year-old left QPR in the summer of 2021 to join Leyton Orient, with the forward spending two season at Brisbane Road and helping them secure promotion to League One.
Smyth has now signed a three-year contract at QPR to become the Championship side’s first signing of the summer, leaving Orient as a free agent at the end of his deal.
“It’s brilliant to be back and I can’t wait to get started,” Smyth told QPR’s official website.
“It genuinely feels like I have been out on loan for two years! I had a brilliant season with Leyton Orient and the interest was there with QPR and I just had to get it done. I want to give it a chance again in the Championship. I couldn’t turn it down.
