Labour’s lead over the Conservative Party stands at 18pts, according to the latest voting intention poll from Savanta.

The poll, conducted over the last weekend (30 June – 2 July), sees Labour on 46% of the vote, a three-point increase from the week before, and the Conservatives on 38%, down three points.

The Liberal Democrats have a one-point increase, reaching 11% of the vote share. This represents a third consecutive week of the Liberal Democrats having a double-figure vote share in a Savanta poll.

Chris Hopkins, Political Research Director at Savanta said, “Our poll from last week, showing a Labour lead of 12 points and fairly out of line with both our, and the wider industry’s, recent polling, helps reinforce the idea that that was something of an outlier.

“Publishing such outliers helps build trust in an industry often accused of herding, and reasserts that polling, despite our best efforts, is always susceptible to variance and rogue results.”

“However, this latest poll better-reflects the industry-wide state of play. An increasingly robotic Prime Minister, seemingly failing to achieve his key pledges, looks more and more lost as the days pass. As for the opposition, concerns with their leader are still there, but as long as Labour keep their nose clean, a route to victory is becoming all the more likely.”
