The British Ministry of Defence (MoD) has said on Tuesday that Vladimir Putin is “unlikely” to meet his recruitment target even though the Kremlin are offering vast sums in salaries.

The Kremlin are offering recruits 2.7 more times of the Russian average salary which now stands are more than 200,000 roubles a month.

The MoD said that “By way of comparison, 2.7 times the average UK salary would equate to over £90,000 a year.”

They said the salary the Kremlin are offering with “additional benefits” are a “strong incentive” for Russian’s to sign up to Putin’s war in Ukraine.

The MoD added, “Russia is still unlikely to meet its targets for recruiting volunteers to the ranks.”

The Minister of Defense of Ukraine Oleksiy Reznikov has said that there is no need to announce a new mobilization to increase the number of their soldiers.

Reznikov said, “The mobilization plan that was approved by the Verkhovna Rada, has not yet been implemented, in a good way.

“This means that we do not need to announce a new mobilization to increase the number today.

“We still have resources from the point of view of the legal plan.”

He said that Ukraine is suffering losses, however they are “many times less than the losses of Russians,” there are dead with many wounded, but it is necessary to make up for the losses.

But to say that today we have a critical situation and we need to increase – no, there is no such need,” he added.
