Lomond has completed yet another acquisition as the company continues to expand at a rapid pace.

Less than a year after buying the letting book of Harvey Scott’s offices in the Cheshire mill town of Bollington, the group has followed up by purchasing the rest of the agency’s rental portfolio in neighbouring Greater Manchester.

The deal further strengthens and extends Lomond’s presence in the North West region, where it operates 14 interlinked offices through three prominent high street brands – Thornley Groves, Julian Wadden, and Matthews of Chester.

The extra properties it has now inherited from Harvey Scott’s base in Davenport, Stockport, have all transferred to the management of four-branch Julian Wadden.

Lomond’s CEO, Ed Phillips, commented: “As we close in on 50 acquisitions since our launch less than three years ago, we are thrilled to be entrusted with all the remaining properties managed by Harvey Scott.

“Our footprint across the North West continues to expand, growing our position as the leading agent in the region. With huge market reach and an enviable reputation, the addition of a respected and long-established brand such as Harvey Scott, enhances our position.”

“The past 12 months have been not just another year of growth for Lomond, but also one of consolidation as we integrate and optimise all our new businesses seamlessly into our group.”

Jason Watkin

Chief executive of Lomond’s operations spanning the North West, Jason Watkin, said: “We currently have approaching 8,000 properties under our team’s management across the region – compared to 2,400 at the end of 2020.

“This tripling of the size of our business in this key location is yet another signal of our ambitions to grow at pace and scale, and cement our position as market leaders not just in the region but nationally too, where the number of properties under Lomond’s management has propelled past 40,000.

“We wish Harvey Scott directors Niall and Nicola Tomlinson every success in their future, after working 20 years in the sector across the South Cheshire and Greater Manchester area.

“Thanks to our successful acquisition of Harvey Scott in Bollington, we are delighted they took the decision to entrust the remainder of the Harvey Scott business to Julian Wadden, the leading independent estate agent in Stockport.

“We look forward to familiar faces from the Harvey Scott team joining the Julian Wadden business and wider Lomond group, and the opportunities this brings.”
