Simon Burgoyne and James Gubbins join UK Sotheby’s International Realty

Simon Burgoyne and James Gubbins have left Knight Frank to join UK Sotheby’s International Realty.

The pair, former partners at Knight Frank, will work from the firm’s Conduit Street office.

Burgoyne, formerly a partner at the Knight Frank Mayfair and St James’s office, joins UK Sotheby’s International Realty as a senior sales director. He has over 17 years in London’s ultra-high West End market.

Gubbins was also as a partner at the same Knight Frank office and worked with Burgoyne. He is also joins the firm as a senior sales director.

George Azar, chairman and chief executive at UK Sotheby’s International Realty, said: “With Simon and James on board, I am confident that we are assembling the most proficient team of specialists to cement our position as the preeminent luxury real estate firm.”

Burgoyne commented: “As part of the globally renowned Sotheby’s name, UK Sotheby’s International Realty is the pinnacle of prestige.

“I look forward to catering to our exclusive clients and unlocking opportunities with London’s most premier homes.”

Gubbins added: “Having the opportunity to contribute to the hallmark name in luxury real estate and be part of the unrivalled reputation is inspiring, and I am looking forward to helping build upon the incredible success.”

 

Kurtis Property appoints new letting manager

George Trevitt

Kurtis Property, which covers London and the Home Counties, has appointed George Trevitt as letting manager at their head office in London, E18.

The agency hope that Trevitt, who has worked in the property industry for the past nine years, will help use his experience to help grow the business and expand their presence in the areas they cover.

Adam Conway, business development director at the company, commented: “ He [Trevitt] carries extensive knowledge of the property market along with expertise, dedicated service and discretion, which is crucial when steering through the property market, especially in these more challenging market conditions.”

Trevitt added: “It was clear from the onset that Kurtis have a well-defined growth strategy to increase the presence of the brand. This, along with the chance to join a very well-established independent agent with 35 years of existence within East London, made my decision to become part our their journey an easy one”.

 

Pugh appoints SDL’s Andy Thompson as new director

Auction house Pugh has boosted its senior team with the appointment of Andy Thompson, previously a director at SDL Property Auctions.

Thompson joins Pugh as a director and has over 15 years’ experience of the North West auctions market, starting out in his property career with Edward Mellor before joining SDL Property Auctions in Manchester as a valuer in 2017. He was appointed SDL director of auctions in 2022.

Thompson’s appointment comes after Pugh joined forces with South Yorkshire property auctioneer Mark Jenkinson this summer to combine the two firms’ monthly auction listings and create one of the north’s largest property auctions. Both Pugh and Mark Jenkinson are part of property group Eddisons.

Pugh managing director Paul Thompson said: “Andy has rapidly become one of the leading lights of the North West auctions industry and we’re really pleased to welcome him to the Pugh team, where I have no doubt he will go from strength to strength and help to drive the continued growth of the business.

“Andy played a key role in establishing SDL Auctions’ presence in the North West and his extensive expertise in the auctions market, will be invaluable to us as Pugh continually works to provide the very best service to our clients.”

Andy Thompson commented: “This is an exciting time to join Pugh, which is fast becoming the go-to property auction house in the north and more widely across the country.

“I am looking forward to playing a key role in the firm’s continuing growth, building on my experience of selling a vast range of residential and commercial properties on behalf of both private individuals and corporate clients across the North West.”
