Jordan has issued a serious threat to Israel that “all options are on the table” amid the “brutal Israeli attacks” on Gaza and warned that the peace agreement could be revoked.

Jordan has accused Israel of failing to discriminate between military and civilian targets which has left more than 10,000 Palestinians dead.

The Jordanian Prime Minister Bisher al Khasawneh recalled their ambassador to Israel who will not return.

Jordan signed a peace treaty with Israel in 1994 and Amman are reviewing their political and economic ties with Israel and there are fears the peace treaty could be revoked in parts or entirely if the conflict in Gaza deepens.

“All options are on the table for Jordan in our dealing with the Israeli aggression on Gaza and its repercussions,” Khasawneh warned.

He added that the bombardment on Gaza is not self-defence as the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu claims.

Khasawneh said, “The brutal Israeli attack does not discriminate between civilian and military targets and is extending to safe areas and ambulances.”

Israel’s Foreign Ministry said in a statement their “relations with Jordan are of strategic importance to both countries and we regret the inflammatory statements from Jordan’s leadership.”

King Abdullah made his concerns quite clear to NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg in Brussels and warned there could be widespread violence in the West Bank if Jewish settlers do not stop attacking Palestinians.

Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi warned that if Israel deliberately drives Palestinians to cross the border into Jordan then the “red line” will be crossed and war could be declared.

Last week Safadi warned, “Any attempt to expel Palestinians in an attempt by Israel to change geography and demography we will confront.”
