The Tories are heading for a huge defeat and are 6/4 to lose 201 or more seats at the next general election.

The ruling party are odds-on at 2/11 to claim 100-149 seats, which would be their worst ever result, whilst Rishi Sunak remains odds-on at 1/8 to be the Tory leader at the next general election.

Labour are the overwhelming 1/4 favourites to secure an overall majority at the polls, with the Tories 17/1 to regain power.

Betfair spokesperson Sam Rosbottom said, “Sir Simon Clarke has attracted criticism for his public criticism of Rishi Sunak, but he appears to be in touch with the mood of the UK when he predicts a ‘massacre’ for the Conservatives at the next general election. It is now 6/4 the Tories lose 201 seats or more when they do call the vote, and it is now 1/10 they post a worst-ever 100-149 seats.

“But despite Clarke’s move, there seems little appetite publicly to force a vote of no confidence in Sunak, with the prime minister 1/8 to be the Tory leader at the next general election.

“However, Sunak’s time in No.10 looks set to end as Labour are the odds-on 1/4 favourites to win a majority at the next general election, with the Tories big 17/1 outsiders.”
