Acura plans to give the public its first uncamouflaged look at its all-electric RSX prototype during Monterey Car Week, but before then, it teased a sneak peek image.

We first learned of Acura’s plans for an all-electric RSX during a 2025 outlook briefing held by American Honda in January. At the time, vice president of sales Lance Woelfer confirmed that the first bespoke all-electric model coming out of the Honda EV Hub in Ohio will be the Acura RSX EV.

This decision will deliver the return of a notable nameplate in the Acura lineup that evolved from the original Honda Integra. The Acura RSX was sold in North America from the early to mid-2000s and still has a respectable fanbase, especially amongst fans of the Integra and Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) enthusiasts.

Aside from a camouflaged image of a prototype, Acura shared that the RSX EV will be the first model to utilize Honda’s new EV platform and ASIMO OS operating system, which was introduced at CES 2025. Next week, during Monterey Car Week, Acura intends to reveal a prototype of the all-electric RSX to the public for the first time.

This morning, the automaker began teasing a non-camo peek at the new prototype, which you can view below:

Electric Acura RSX prototype headed to Monterey

This morning, Acura confirmed that its all-electric RSX Prototype will make its global debut during Monterey Car Week, the world’s top gathering of automotive and motorsports enthusiasts. As we pointed out in January, the Acura RSX EV, despite its model name’s history, is an SUV based on the Japanese Automaker’s Performance EV Concept.

Note that this is merely a prototype. That said, Acura said the model on display in Monterey “previews the new Acura RSX.” The passenger version is expected to hit Acura dealers in the second half of 2026.

Before then, we will look at the electric Acura RSX prototype at Monterey Car Week, which begins August 8 and runs through Sunday, the 17th. Some of us at Electrek will be there next week, so if you see one of us, say hello!
