Pacitti Jones, which operates across Glasgow and Central Scotland, is expanding its estate agency, lettings and mortgage broking operations in North and South Lanarkshire through the acquisition of Wishaw- and Carluke-based Independent Estates. The transaction marks the latest in a series of purchases made by the firm over the past year.

Independent Estates is a long-established estate and letting agency and mortgage broker in the Wishaw and Carluke areas. The deal will see Pacitti Jones extend its service offering to IE’s clients, including access to in-house conveyancing. It follows the firm’s acquisition of Rutherglen-based law practice Carr Berman Crichton in September 2025.

Pacitti Jones chief executive John O’Malley said: “We already have a strong presence and proven track recordin Greater Glasgow and Central Scotland but we are always looking at opportunities to grow. We are excited to be coming together with Independent Estates; a highly respected local firm which has provided high quality estate & letting agency and mortgage broking services in Wishaw and Carluke for nearly 30 years. ”

O’Malley added: “Following this latest acquisition Pacitti Jones now operates from thirteen Scottish branches across the Central Belt, from Glasgow and Stirling through to Linlithgow.

“We have been looking for opportunities to expand into the Lanarkshire market for a number of years and are delighted with the opportunity Independent Estates provides.

“We are actively looking for other opportunities whether in estate agency or lettings, a firm of solicitors or a mortgage broker to expand our presence in West and Central Scotland.”

All existing Independent Estates staff will be remaining with the business and transferring over to Pacitti Jones.

Stuart Laird and Gary Hughes of Independent Estates said: “This [deal] his has been a long time in the making and is of huge benefit to Independent Estates, our staff and more importantly our loyal client base.

“It is important to understand that absolutely nothing changes, all of the staff are in place, Gary & Stuart are still managing the financial services side and the business success will continue to grow under the fantastic management team of Pacitti Jones.

“We look forward to being part of that continued success and growth in the future.

“Finally we would like to thank the thousands of supporters we have had over the past 30 years, without you the wonderful journey would not have happened and the future now looks brighter than ever.

All existing Independent Estates staff will be remaining with the business and transferring over to Pacitti Jones.

Following this latest acquisition Pacitti Jones now operates from 13 Scottish branches across the Central Belt, from Glasgow and Stirling through to Linlithgow.
