The Metropolitan Police has confirmed that another serving cop has been arrested and charged for rape and causing actual bodily harm.

PC Jorden Brown was charged with rape and three counts of actual bodily harm which relates to incidents which happened between November 2018 and February 2019.

PC Brown was off duty at the time and the alleged crimes relates to a person known to him, and the Met confirmed that he has been suspended from duty at the Central East Command Unit.

The Met further confirmed that allegations made against PC Brown were given the to police in October 2019 and thereafter an investigation was launched.

Det Supt Dan Rutland, from Central East Command Unit said, “PC Brown has been suspended and criminal proceedings will now follow.

“While I recognise the inevitable strength of public feeling, it is important that nothing is said that will put those proceedings at risk.”

Police chiefs are worried that their “legitimacy is hanging by a thread” as “trust has been severely damaged” as many no longer have trust in the police, amid the rapist “corrupt” cop David Carrick who got away with being able to rape and sexually abuse women for years.

Whilst a serving cop Carrick was known as “B*****d Dave” to his colleagues and was known to be mean and brutal.

On Tuesday the serial rapist was sentenced 36 life sentences with a minimum of 30 years to be served for 49 offences which include 24 counts of horrific rape.

Humberside Police’s Chief Constable, Lee Freeman, called it “one of the darkest weeks for policing that I have known” he has known in his career which spans nearly three decades.

Freeman said, “Here in Humberside, I feel that we have a collective responsibility to reflect and recognise that the events in London also directly impact on us and how our communities see us.

“Indeed, this is already having an impact.

“I feel that the case of Carrick, along with other prominent cases that regrettably precede it, means police legitimacy is hanging by a thread.”

In November 2022, one of the most senior police officers in Britain told delegated at the National Police Chiefs’ Council (NPCC) addressed a damning watchdog report of police vetting, where they found that hundreds, if not thousands corrupt and bent officers could be serving.

Hewitt said, “While the inspectorate agreed with the vast majority of the vetting decisions and found the majority of misconduct investigations were effective, that still leaves a deeply concerning number of decisions that were just plain wrong.

“And dangerously wrong, allowing predators or wholly unsuitable individuals to join or stay in policing and do harm to their colleagues or the public.

“That is simply not good enough.”
