Ukraine star Zinchenko is battling a groin strain with his fitness in the balance ahead of the weekend’s vital league battle with Roberto De Zerbi’s Seagulls, with Mikel Arteta insisting it is not yet confirmed that he and William Saliba are out for the rest of the season.
Arsenal will run the rule over Zinchenko in a final training session tomorrow, before the first of three league clashes to close out their Premier League title chase.
Saliba will miss the Brighton clash with his continued back concern, and the France defender will also be a doubt for Arsenal’s trip to Nottingham Forest on May 20.
“We have another session tomorrow before Brighton, so we’re trying to get players back for that,” said Arteta.
“We’ll know more on that tomorrow. William will not be fit for this game, and he’ll be a doubt for the next game as well.”
Jakub Kiwior will likely continue to deputise at centre back in Saliba’s absence, with Arteta heaping praise on the Poland defender.
“He’s been really impressive; really composed, really calm and he’s been brilliant against two great opponents in the last few games. He’s dealt with the situation in a great way.”
Predicted Arsenal XI: Ramsdale; White, Kiwior, Gabriel, Tierney; Jorginho, Xhaka, Odegaard; Saka, Jesus, Martinelli (4-3-3)
