The Economist has estimated that between 60,000 and 100,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed since full-scale war broke out in February 2022.
They reported that around 400,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been seriously wounded and are unable to continue fighting on the frontlines.
In February President Volodymyr Zelensky said that 31,000 of his soldiers have been killed fighting against Russian forces.
The Economist have based their figures on intelligence reports, defence officials, researchers and open-source information, the Kyiv Independent reports.
The Wall Street Journal reported in September that some 80,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed with 400,000 wounded.
Ukrainian Armed Forces have said that Russia has lost more than 735,000 since the war started, but to know the exact number from both sides is almost impossible to know for sure.
