A British Army General has told MPs they are ready to “fight tonight” should war in Europe break out.

The deputy chief of the British Defence staff, Lieutenant General Rob Magowan told the House of Commons defence committee, “If the British Army was asked to fight tonight, it would fight tonight.

“I don’t think anybody in this room should be under any illusion that if the Russians invaded Eastern Europe tonight, then we would meet them in that fight.”

The Russian ambassador to the UK Andrei Kelin has said that UK is “directly involved” in the war in Ukraine after authorizing Kyiv to use the British made and supplied long-range Storm Shadow cruise missiles.

Ukraine warns ‘World War III has already begun’

Kelin told Sky News Mark Austin, “Absolutely, Britain and UK is now directly involved in this war, because this firing cannot happen without NATO staff, British staff as well.”

Vladimir Putin could launch “both conventional and nuclear warheads” in London as he has “moved into action.”

Dmitry Kiselyov who is a close ally of Putin warned in September that should Sir Keir Starmer allow the use of the Storm Shadow cruise missiles then the “UK could face a nuclear response.”

The British Prime Minister, Sier Keir Starmer said that the UK is “not at war,” he told BBC Radio Bristol, “We’re not at war, but Ukraine certainly is, because Ukraine has been invaded by Russia, and that war has now been going on for just over 1,000 days.

“That’s 1,000 days of aggression from Russia and 1,000 days of sacrifice for Ukraine, and that is why we’ve said consistently that we stand by Ukraine. We cannot allow Putin to win this war.”

Ukraine’s ambassador to London Valeriy Zaluzhny has warned on Friday that “World War III has already begun” as North Korea, China, Iran and Belarus are all backing Vladimir Putin.

Almost all of 32 NATO member states and non-alliance members such as Japan and South Korea are all helping Ukraine in some way, with either military aid, intelligence or aid for civilians.

Zaluzhny said on Friday, “I believe that in 2024 we can absolutely definitely consider that the Third World War has begun.

“Ukraine no longer faces only Russia.

“In front of Ukraine are soldiers from North Korea. Let’s be honest — Iranian ‘Shaheds’ [kamikaze drones] are already killing civilians in Ukraine quite openly, without any shyness. North Korean-made missiles are already flying into Ukraine, and they openly declare this.”
