New analysis from Rightmove has identified the most expensive streets to buy a home in the UK, with Winnington Road in Barnet, north London, retaining the top spot with an average asking price of £12,538,095.
The ranking is based on Rightmove data and includes streets where at least five homes were listed for sale in January. Chester Square in Westminster ranks second with an average asking price of £11,546,428, followed by The Bishops Avenue in Barnet at £8,930,650.
Outside London, East Road in Elmbridge, Surrey, is the most expensive street and the only non-London location in the top 20, with an average asking price of £8,795,714.
Drumsheugh Gardens in Edinburgh (£560,000) is the most expensive street in Scotland, while Hollybush Road in Cardiff (£1,237,500) ranks highest in Wales.
Rightmove’s Colleen Babcock said: “Britain’s most expensive streets always capture the nation’s attention and this year we see the return of Winnington Road in North London, as Britain’s most expensive street based on asking prices. In fact, this year’s top 20 is taken up almost entirely by London addresses, showing the city still reigns as supreme when it comes to ultra-prime property.
“For buyers looking for prestigious roads outside of the hustle and bustle of London, Elmbridge in Surrey is flying the flag for the rest of the country as the only area outside the capital to make the top 20 list.”
