Chestertons has confirmed Watson Briggs as the department head for its new homes division. Briggs has specialised in the new homes market for more than a decade and, prior to joining Chestertons in 2022, worked as St George PLC’s head of sales, representing some of the developer’s landmark projects including London Dock, One Blackfriars & Chelsea Creek.

He said: “As the new homes director, I’m focused on growing the department but also on maintaining a bespoke service to our clients whilst establishing opportunities with some of London’s latest and most sought-after developments.”

Chestertons’ head of sales, Matt Thompson, added: “With his in-depth knowledge and passion for the sector, Watson has been an invaluable asset to Chestertons’ New Homes team and we are looking forward to seeing him lead the team to its next stage of growth.”

Bentons Estate Agents in Melton Mowbray, Leicestershire, has announced two promotions to take advantage of what it says has been a recent upturn in housing market activity.

Melissa Hopson has been promoted to sales director and Maria Burns to the post of head of operations at the business.

Both Hopson and Burns will work alongside managing director, Lizzie Bateman, and senior valuer, Nick Bonfield.

James Warne continues in his role as residential director.

Bateman said: “We are delighted to see Melissa and Maria receive these well-deserved promotions.
