United Kingdom Sotheby’s International Realty makes senior hires as part of expansion

James Williams

United Kingdom Sotheby’s International Realty has made four principal hires to expand its London operation into key neighbourhoods including Wimbledon, Wandsworth, Clapham and Richmond.

United Kingdom Sotheby’s International Realty has unveiled a strategic expansion across South West London. This move aims to serve clients in their communities, as well as those moving along the “wealth corridor” from PCL to leafier suburbs.

The new territory covers Fulham, Clapham, Wandsworth, Putney, Barnes, Wimbledon and Richmond, with the company hiring several longstanding property experts with granular knowledge of the area’s prime neighbourhoods.

Peter Norgrove

Senior director Sam Sproston has spent 25 years in property, including two decades selling homes in South West London. For the majority of his tenure at Knight Frank, he was office head and oversaw record-breaking sales in areas such as Wandsworth, Clapham and Richmond.

James Williams, who joins United Kingdom Sotheby’s International Realty as senior director, has significant experience in the prime and super-prime property markets of Richmond. Leaving after 18 years, he was the longest-serving partner in Knight Frank’s London Sales business. Prior to his career in real estate, James served his country as a Royal Marines Commando.

Peter Norgrove also joins United Kingdom Sotheby’s International Realty as senior director. With experience at Hamptons International and Knight Frank, and an additional eight years at Savills, he has set various records including the highest-value residential sale achieved in Richmond.

Alex Philo

Director Alex Philo completes the team. He has almost 22 years of property sales experience in prime and super-prime markets, from Wandsworth to Weybridge. In 2020, he took over Knight Frank’s Wimbledon team, dealing with some of the most prestigious houses in SW19, and broke the record for the highest fee in the agency’s South West division.

Sam Sproston

Claire Reynolds, Managing Partner, stated: “Our new roster of experts underlines our strength in prime and super-prime real estate. We look forward to serving clients in these family-focused communities and continuing to deliver elevated advice and outstanding results.”

This expansion reinforces United Kingdom Sotheby’s International Realty’s commitment to increasing market share in London’s most sought-after neighbourhoods.

Senior hire for Savills Shoreditch

James Martin

Savills has made a significant hire in its east London residential business, appointing James Martin as an associate director within the sales team in Shoreditch.

James comes to Savills with over a decade’s worth of experience, having worked in a number of locations across north west London.

Martin began his career with Dexters in Hampstead and played a key role in opening a new office for the firm in Kentish Town. More recently, he spent several years at Knight Frank, joining its Belsize Park office in 2020 before heading up the prime sales team in Queens Park, where he achieved a record year for the office.

In his new associate director role at Savills, Martin will concentrate on selling prime properties up to £3m in and around Shoreditch, from flats to luxurious penthouses and warehouse conversions.

Sitting as part of the Shoreditch sales team, Martin will work closely with colleagues in neighbouring offices including Clerkenwell, Islington and Hackney as well as Savills lettings and residential development business, our specialist international desks and our auctions team.

Nick Verdi, head of Savills Shoreditch office commented: “Following a highly successful 2024 for the office, James’ expertise and impressive track record will further strengthen our team. With his wealth of experience across multiple markets, I am confident he will continue to achieve outstanding results for our clients as we grow our market share across N1, E1 and E2 postcodes.”

Martin added: “I look forward to utilising my knowledge and contributing to the future achievements of the department as I look forward to operating in a new area of the capital, while honing my sales skills and expertise.”

Justin Shulman joins Moveli

Justin Shulman

Justin Shulman, who has been working as a letting agent in London for more than 20 years, has joined Moveli.

The self-employed brokerage, which has just hit a milestone growth achievement of 50 brokers, has welcome the appointment of Shulman.

Co-founder Ben Littlewood said: “Now with over 50 brokers, the Moveli network and brand continue to grow, strengthening our presence both in and beyond London.

“With an average of 18 years of experience, each new broker adds depth to our network, creating greater opportunities for all. Moveli is firmly establishing itself as the leading upper-market brokerage in the UK.”
