Norman Bricknell

Co-founder of Morris Bricknell departs

Norman Bricknell, one of the founders of Morris Bricknell in Ross-on-Wye, has stepped away from the business after 50 years working in the industry.

Bricknell, who founded the Herfordshire-based estate agency, with business partner Nigel Morris, previously worked for Stooke Hill & Co in Hereford after the company was sold to Prudential Property Services in 1987.

Last year, he agreed on a sale of the estate agency to John Goodwin & Sons Ltd in Ledbury, who took over the office yesterday, with the existing staff remaining with the business.

Bricknell will continue to operate the Coventry Building Society Agency from the adjacent premises.

“I have absolutely loved almost every aspect of my long career, more particularly working with an incredible succession of wonderful people in one of the most beautiful counties in the land,” Bricknell said. “I consider myself very fortunate.”

“I will now have a little more time to pursue my many and varied interests, including motorcycling, gardening and acting as a city guide in Hereford,” he added.

Spicerhaart appoints its first Head of Creative

Paul Smith and Dave Standley

Spicerhaart has appointed an international award-winning creative director.

Dave Standley is the organisation’s first in-house head of creative, bringing extensive experience in branding, design, and marketing. His role will support Spicerhaart’s content creation initiatives, which also include the hiring of a new in-house video crew.

“My approach to creativity is rooted in challenging conventional thinking and pushing the boundaries of what’s possible,” said Standley. “Whether it’s changing a bus colour to alter public perception or designing a hyper-local marketing campaign, I believe in harnessing creativity to connect with people at a truly human level.”

Standley’s diverse skill set encompasses graphic design, illustration, photography, video production, and more.

Paul Smith, Spicerhaart founder and chairman, commented: “Dave’s appointment moves us into a different league, supported by significant investment in areas we have never dreamt of going before, which will involve new partnerships and collaborations.

“His proven ability to transform brand perceptions and drive meaningful change perfectly aligns with our mission to innovate within the property industry.

“His track record of shaking up traditional mindsets will be invaluable as we look to refine and enhance the way we engage with customers, both online and offline.”

New director at Charles Wright Properties

Natasha Harris

Charles Wright Properties in Woodbridge, Suffolk, has announced that Natasha Harris has become a fellow director within the business.

Having spent almost 20 year working in the estate agency sector, Harris will be working alongside Charlie Wright, the company’s founder, who gave her her first opportunity in the industry.

Harris worked her way up from a junior role to successfully managing an office for Fenn Wright estate agents in Woodbridge.
