Tom Carter

Tom Carter joins OnTheMarket as chief financial officer

Following the announcement made on 24 January 2023, Tom Carter has now joined OnTheMarket as chief financial officer and a member of the Board.

Carter, who agreed to join OTM in January, was serving a six month notice period with his previous employer, AIM-listed Brand Architekts Group PLC, an international beauty brand business.

He was CFO at Brand Architekts Group for three years and led the recent acquisition of main market listed Innovaderma. Prior to that, he was group finance and operations director at Technetix Group Ltd, a global technology company, and has also held financial roles at Alliance Boots, BSkyB Plc and Procter and Gamble. Carter trained as a chartered accountant with PwC.

Speaking in January, Carter said: “OnTheMarket is widely recognised as a leader in the industry, and this is an exciting time to be joining the business. I look forward to working with Jason and the team to further differentiate the proposition and build a “one-stop-shop” for agents and housebuilders across the entire property ecosystem.”

Carter replaces Simon Bullock, who was appointed interim CFO in January.

Bullock provided the finance function with experienced leadership between ex-CFO Clive Beattie’s departure on 27 January 2023 and Carter joining the Board.

Reflecting on Carter joining the group as CFO, Christopher Bell, non-executive chairman at OTM, commented: “His proven experience will be a great asset to the team as we continue with our strategy of building a tech-enabled property business.”

Rendells announces Robin as Associate Partner

Robin Tozer

Rendells, the long-established chartered surveyors, auctioneers, valuers, land and estate agents, has announced the appointment of Robin Tozer as associate partner with the firm.

Having spent the last 15 years or so in the South Devon property market, Tozer has gained plenty of experience in the residential and rural property market. He has spent the past three years working as property manager at the Totnes branch of Rendells.

Partners, Michael Pedrick and Russell Thomas, have welcomed Tozer’s appointment as the firm, which was founded in 1816, continues to build for the future.

Thomas said: “Robin is highly deserving of his new role. He has a great respect for Rendells and its heritage and upholds our traditional values, of which we are very proud, but he is also a great communicator, highly professional and very personable with a positive, caring and forward-thinking approach.”
