Robert Sturges founds Sturges London

Robert Sturges

Robert Sturges has founded his own Fulham-based company, Sturges London, which offers residential sales, lettings and property management services in the Central and South West London.

His previous role was heading up Prime Central and Central London Residential Sales for Chestertons but his real estate career began with Foxtons in Fulham in the early 1990s. He worked his way up from senior negotiator to director and was involved with the sale of the business to Humberts Ltd and in its subsequent merger with Chestertons in 2009. He became sales regional director.

Sturges says he plans to offer “differentiating levels of service to our sales, lettings and managed clients and customers” and will be “ensuring that this service level remains as the volumes increase. We shall ensure this with the recruitment of well renumerated, experienced staff well versed in the high standards that we plan to offer our clients.

Carter Jonas has implemented a strategic restructuring of its Planning and Development division, which includes several senior promotions that reflect the firm’s commitment to improving service quality and fostering collaboration.

Under the leadership of Colin Brown, head of Planning and Development, the organisation now features four dynamic business units, each led by a dedicated lead partner.

James Cordery (pictured) has been promoted to national head of development agency. After joining Carter Jonas as a graduate surveyor in 2013, he has specialised in strategic and immediate development land opportunities, working with both private and public sector clients. He will now also lead Development South, working out of Oxford, Bristol and Winchester.

Katy Davis, head of planning in London for several years, has been promoted to national head of planning. She will also continue to lead the London planning team and has been with Carter Jonas since 2014. Jon Pinkerton, who joined the company in 2019, now has the role of national head of development consultancy.

Several other key leadership changes have been made: Huw Mellor will assume the role of head of planning South;  Paul Belton has been promoted to head of planning and development East; and Dominic Bryant is the newly appointed partner leading the Development Land team in Cambridge.

Jonny Clayton will continue in his role as national head of masterplanning and urban design.
