New senior leadership team for Devon estate agency Marchand Petit

Sarah Douglas

Marchand Petit has announced the appointment of Sarah Douglas as managing director.

Douglas brings 32 years of estate agency experience to the role. Prior to joining Marchand Petit four years ago, she was the sales director for James Anderson Estate Agents in London, having previously also worked for Barnard Marcus Auctions.

Speaking of her new position, Douglas said: “I look forward to working for and with everyone within the wonderful Marchand Petit team, leading with a clear focus on delivering exceptional service to our customers.”

Douglas is joined by a second new appointment for Marchand Petit; Helen Harris will assume the role of director and head of prime Waterfront & Country House with immediate effect.

Harris, who brings 19 years’ experience working in all sectors of the property market across the region, said: “Being able to lead Marchand Petit’s unique Prime Waterfront and Country House Department is both exciting and a privilege, working through the South Hams – an area I have a strong passion for and have lived in all my life.”

Helen Harris

The two appointments are the latest in a series of promotions within the Marchand Petit senior leadership team as the company continues to experience marked growth and success across the South Hams, with Tim Jones recently also assuming the role of Associate Director and manager of the Dartmouth branch.

Marchand Petit’s chairman, Gordon Maunder, said: “Sarah was unanimously voted to become our new managing director by the board and will help to deliver many more years of success for Marchand Petit and our clients, while Helen has a wealth of experience that will undoubtedly see our dedicated Prime Waterfront & Country House department continue to flourish.”

“We are all excited for this next chapter in the Marchand Petit story, one that has spanned more than 30 years and which has seen us become renowned as the estate agent of choice for coastal, town and country property in the South Hams,” he added.

Stephanie Vaughan-Jones to head Moneypenny’s property team

Stephanie Vaughan-Jones

Moneypenny has appointed Stephanie Vaughan-Jones to head its property team.

The outsourced communications business supports 2,500 businesses in the UK property industry, including estate agents, commercial agents, housebuilders, and housing associations.

Vaughan-Jones takes over the property team from former head Sharon Boyle, who is now focused on developing Moneypenny’s bespoke customer team offering.

Vaughan-Jones has been part of Moneypenny since 2009. She has recently returned from Moneypenny’s Atlanta office in the US, where she was on a two-year secondment as the head of business development. Before that, she led Moneypenny’s health and care team in the UK and worked for several years in the property team.

Vaughan-Jones said: “The property market is facing real challenges, especially with the decline in property prices, tighter lending criteria and the effects of higher interest rates. Consequently, it’s become essential for property businesses to protect and invest in the customer experience and provide the very best support and care to those looking to buy, sell and rent.

“It’s a pivotal time for me to return to the UK property sector and show how Moneypenny can help. I’m keen to put my knowledge and experience to good use.”

Joanna Swash, CEO of Moneypenny, commented: “Stephanie brings a wealth of experience to this role. She’s been an instrumental part of the business for the last 14 years and understands how transformative outsourced call handling and live chat support can be, especially for the property sector.  Her focus will be helping agents, housebuilders, and housing associations to improve the customer experience and free up time for their in-house teams.”
