A pair of well-established estate agents in Leicestershire have launched a new estate agency covering the wider East Midlands region.

Tom Smith, most recently senior partner at Alexanders Estates, and fellow Alexanders colleague, Lucinda Smith, have established Smiths Property Experts to provide residential sales and letting, along with property management, planning and development, land and new homes, as well as mortgage and insurance services.

The new estate agency will cover the whole of Leicestershire as well as south Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, Rutland and north Warwickshire.

Lucinda Smith told EYE that the company plans to have several offices and are currently in the process of acquiring its first in the villages surrounding Loughborough; “exact location to be announced in the coming weeks”.

Tom Smith’s grandfather was MD at Raleigh Cycles, while his father owned and operated Simpkin & James Wines in Leicester. However, it is his mother Jane Gilks, an international hair stylist, to whom he attributes his drive and determination to succeed.

He said: “My mother instilled the values of hard work, manners and what it takes to succeed from an early age. I am immensely proud of my career and achievements to date, which include completing transactions on some of the region’s highest-value properties. Whilst my achievements are dear to me, ultimate satisfaction comes from helping local people to achieve their property goals. I cannot wait to continue helping clients new and old navigate the property market for years to come.”

He added: “When you deal with Smiths you deal with both me and Lucinda as owners, and as such we care, take pride, and understand our responsibility when advising on and handling your property needs.”

Lucinda Smith, responsible for the brand’s marketing, works alongside her business partner in providing clients with advice and support in the sale or let of their home.

Lucinda Smith said: “I have huge respect for Tom, his knowledge, and his understanding of the market. I believe we align in our work ethic, are driven to be the very best at what we do and take great joy and satisfaction in helping clients achieve their property goals.”
