US EV prices dropped again in June as automakers leaned harder on incentives, and Tesla’s sales slump played a big part, according to Kelley Blue Book’s latest numbers.

The average transaction price (ATP) for a new EV was $56,910 last month. That’s down from May’s revised $57,236 and nearly 3% lower than prices a year ago.

Incentives hit a new record, too. Buyers got an average of 14.8% off the sticker price in June – that’s over $8,400 in savings, and the second month in a row of increases.

Despite those deals, EV sales in the second quarter were still down more than 6% compared to the same period last year. That’s because Tesla’s sales are down more than 10% in the first half of 2025. Ford and Kia also posted notable lower year-over-year EV sales.

Tesla’s average transaction price dropped to $54,989 in June, down slightly from May and nearly 6% lower than last year. The Model Y, still the US’s top-selling EV, sold 25,095 units in June, its best month of the year to date. The Model Y’s price decreased: buyers paid an average of $53,224 in June, down from $53,898 in May.
