Krispyhouse yesterday launched its ‘next generation’ property listing platform, which we are told is designed to be a ‘disruptive competitor to Zoopla and Rightmove’ in terms of property rentals.

The firm’s communications team says the new portal is ‘positioned as a dating service for tenants and landlords’.

The new app, which is now live, offers direct messaging, video and voice calling between tenants and intermediaries; all communications are housed entirely within the krispyhouse app, designed to appeal mainly to younger users.

Krispyhouse allows tenants to upload personal details and requirements for free, and notifies them when a well-suited property becomes available. Following expressions of interest, the tenant and the person representing the property can quickly connect.

Anthony Kyriacou, CEO and founder of krispyhouse, says he made plans for the platform when examining the current market offerings in his role as an estate agent.

He argues that the user experience of current property platforms leaves much to be desired, and does not satisfy the fundamental requirement of today’s fast-paced market: instantaneous communication.

We are told that beta stage testing over the summer generated interest from more than 200 agents and several thousand potential tenants within the krispyhouse app, hence the decision to launch the platform formally to market.

Krispyhouse has now started a funding round through CrowdCube, inviting early investors to invest in the new platform.

Kyriacou commented: “People are time poor these days, so a rental property site that can provide a streamlined user experience is crucial. Krispyhouse allows renters, landlords and estate agents to ‘get a move on’, with an easier and quicker way to manage housing communications. We are excited to have launched our funding round on CrowdCube, to support our growth and ambition to offer a UK wide service.”
