executive Jes Staley has been denied a request to separate a lawsuit against him from two other defendants by his former employer that charge that he helped convicted, deceased pedophile Jeffrey Epstein, according to federal court documents. Staley’s request to have more time to prepare his defense was granted by a federal judge in Manhattan. The court allowed Staley an additional seven weeks to conduct pretrial discovery, with a new deadline of July 18 instead of May 30. The deadline date for Staley’s counsel of requests to admit will be moved later by seven weeks until May 26. Staley had proposed a new trial date of March 24, 2024, instead of October of this year. However, the judge said the trial will not be moved from its current date of Oct. 23. Staley’s lawyers argued in an April 6 letter to the court that JPMorgan’s allegations against him are “baseless but serious.”
