Ukrainian forces have attacked a Russian oil refinery in the Saratov region along with a drone storage facility at the Saky airfield in occupied Crimea, the General Staff of the Armed Forces reported.

On Friday the Saratov region was attacked, it produces 20 types of petroleum products, including technical sulfur, diesel fuel, gasoline, fuel oil to supply Russian troops.

Multiple explosions rocked Vladimir Putin’s oil refinery which will make it harder for them to obtain fuel as the blistering cold winter months are set to start.

The General Staff said in a statement, “According to preliminary information, several air defense assets were hit at the airfield, including Pantsir-S1 and Tor-M2.

“After suppressing the enemy’s air defense systems, a hangar storing enemy Orion and Forpost drones was destroyed.”

Another command and control post was hit along with a Russian KamAZ military truck, the damage to Russian assets is being clarified.

Air raid sirens sounded in the Black Sea city of Novorossiysk, Saratov and Smolensk and explosions were heard in the regions and people saw blasts and flames light up the night sky.

Astra reported explosions were heard near the Taganrog-Yuzhny military airfield in the widespread Ukrainian drone attack, and Taganrog is located along the northern Azov Sea.

This comes days after Ukraine successfully destroyed a missiles facility which produces components for “cruise and ballistic missiles,” in Cheboksary, [Russia’s] Republic of Chuvashia, which is 1000 kilometres from Ukraine’s border.

Ukrainian forces have also destroyed Russia’s 58th Combined Arms Army command post on the southern frontlines using drones which have been crucial to repel Russian troops.

Ammunition depots in Ocheretine and Kamianka in the occupied territories of Donetsk region, and in Pokrovsk soldiers were obliterated.

Vladyslav Voloshyn, a spokesperson for Ukraine’s South Defence Forces, said, “According to our intelligence, the Russian 58th Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District is operating against us in this sector.

“Within this formation alone, more than 4,500 soldiers have deserted their units and are currently on the run.”
