Lomond has announced yet another significant acquisition, after completing the purchase of a major brand, enabling the firm to significantly boost its presence and create a firm foundation for further growth in the South of England.

Lomond has bought the well-established estate agency and lettings arms of Charters Estate Agents Ltd, which will see the current owner, Rob Mott, retained in a senior capacity.

Charters Estate Agents currently has ten branches stretching the length of the M3 from Southampton to Farnham, with an estimated portfolio of 2,800 properties under management.

Charters has invested heavily in both brand and branch infrastructure in recent years, building a first class offering and a formidable reputation in the process. Furthermore, the Charters business is no stranger to acquisitions itself, having made several previously, further positioning itself as the ideal brand to drive Lomond’s activity within the area.

Such is the strength of this investment, that not only will Charters become a leading brand for Lomond in the area, but the firm will help lead the brand to continue its expansion strategy across the South West and further afield.

Lomond’s CEO, Ed Phillips, commented: “Charters is a first-class business and the investment made in both the brand and its branches in recent years is clear to see, so we’re delighted to finally complete one of our biggest acquisitions to date.

“In doing so, we believe our presence within the area will be significantly elevated and this deal will allow us to form an impenetrable base of operations from which to continue our expansion. I look forward working closely with Rob Mott and welcoming the whole Charters team into Lomond and continuing theirs and our successful journeys together.”

Rob Mott of The Charters Group said: “The Charters business has made several impressive acquisitions of its own in recent years and our hunger for growth via expansion fits perfectly with Lomond’s vision.

“So we feel that this was a natural path to take and we’re looking forward to driving the business forward even further with the support of Lomond behind us.

“I look forward to working with Ed and the rest of the senior Lomond team in helping achieve our newly combined ambitions.”
