The Fine & Country Foundation has announced details of this year’s Carols by Candlelight Concert, which will be held on Sunday 8th December 2024, in partnership with King’s College Cambridge.

As one of the Foundation’s most anticipated holiday events, this festive evening aims to inspire the spirit of giving, set against the enchanting backdrop of the historic King’s College Chapel.

This year’s concert is especially meaningful, as The Foundation celebrates an incredible milestone of raising £1m since its inception in 2014, supporting charities dedicated to combating homelessness and poverty. The Foundation’s annual Carols by Candlelight has been a cornerstone of this success, with last year’s concert alone raising a record-breaking £21,000.

The event will feature the remarkable King’s Voices, the mixed-voice choir of the King’s College community, founded by Stephen Cleobury in 1997.

Originally under the direction of John Butt, it is now directed by the College’s interim assistant director of Music, Ralph Woodward. Their angelic renditions of beloved Christmas carols will fill the chapel with holiday warmth, inviting all in attendance to celebrate in the spirit of community and compassion.

Funds raised from this year’s concert will be directed to Emmaus Cambridge, Jimmy’s Cambridge, Wintercomfort, and Cambridge Cyrenians – four charities that provide essential services and support to those experiencing homelessness in the Cambridgeshire region. By purchasing a ticket, attendees contribute directly to the Foundation’s ongoing efforts to create meaningful change for vulnerable individuals in our society.

Doors will open at 4:20 pm, with the service commencing at 5 pm, with carols filling the historic halls of King’s College Chapel. Following the concert, VIP guests are invited to join a reception featuring mulled wine and mince pies, a moment to come together and reflect on the evening’s purpose and impact.

Jon Cooke, Trustee of the Fine & Country Foundation, shared his thoughts on the significance of the event: “The Carols by Candlelight Concert is more than an evening of festive celebration; it is a gathering of people who believe in the power of community and the importance of giving back. It has been inspiring to witness the impact that our supporters and Fine & Country agents have made over the years. Together, we’ve reached an incredible milestone, and we look forward to continuing our mission with the support of those attending this year’s concert.”

Tickets are available now and can be purchased through the Eventbrite page.
